Today, consumers are concerned about indoor air quality, as well as comfort and low energy bills. Integrated system components such as mechanical ventilation, sealed combustion appliances and tight building techniques are quickly becoming demanded features in new homes throughout the United States. These systems work together to control air leakage, provide adequate ventilation and ensure safe operation of combustion appliances. Testing the air tightness of your homes is a key component to ensuring that these new systems work properly.

These IR images where taken with an outside temperature of approx 35F, with the sun heating the external wall. The insulation was not installed to manufacture's specifications, and the air seal installation left gaps in the bottom plate and wall stud. This could lead to potential air infiltration problems and customer call backs. This is the type of workmanship we are typically finding on jobsites.
